DAY 2 - FINDING SELF-CARE IN THE NEW YEAR

I hope you’re following along as we countdown the final 100 days of 2022 - you can join us anytime. Learn more about the program HERE.

Self-care is important because it helps to promote physical and emotional well-being, and can contribute to overall happiness and satisfaction in life. It can also help to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and boost self-esteem and self-confidence. Additionally, self-care can improve overall health and well-being by helping to prevent burnout, improve sleep, and reduce the risk of illness and disease.

Moreover, when we engage in self-care, it enables us to have the energy, focus, and emotional stability to take care of others, to do our job, to be a good friend and family member, and to make positive contributions to our community.

In short, self-care is a critical aspect of maintaining good health, both physically and mentally. It allows us to be more productive and efficient in our daily lives. By taking care of ourselves, we can be better equipped to handle the demands of our daily lives and to achieve our goals.

  1. Prioritizing self-care: Make time for self-care activities on a regular basis and make it a priority.

  2. Finding balance: Identify the areas of your life where you need more balance and take steps to create it.

  3. Engage in activities that you enjoy: Make time for hobbies, interests and activities that bring you joy and relaxation.

  4. Eating well: Make sure you are fueling your body with nutritious food, and stay hydrated.

  5. Getting enough sleep: Make sure you are getting enough restful sleep each night.

  6. Exercise regularly: Move your body and engage in physical activity that you enjoy.

  7. Practice mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness techniques such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing into your daily routine.

  8. Connect with others: Build and maintain positive relationships with friends, family, and loved ones.

  9. Seek help when needed: Don't hesitate to seek professional help if you are struggling with your mental or emotional health.

  10. Be kind to yourself: Be compassionate, patient and understanding with yourself, and avoid self-criticism.

I would also encourage you to identify the things that are getting in the way of your self-care, and help you to develop strategies to overcome them.
