Today is World Teacher’s Day!  As part of our 100 days remaining in 2022, we spoke about embracing a  gratitude practice.  To me this one is easy.  While I don’t have young children at home any longer, I vividly remember the profound impact a great teacher had on my daughters as they were growing up.  My youngest who is in her senior year at the University of Denver still talks about a teacher she had in middle school who opened her mind and heart to a love of history.  He was a retired police officer who started teaching as a second career.  He found a way to really communicate with his students that fostered an environment that allowed them to really question things they learned.  There was no question too small or too difficult, they could always come to him.

There are so many amazing teachers out there.  They are shaping our leaders of tomorrow.  We owe them so much.

If you have school-age children, make a point of thanking them today. Go out of your way to extend gratitude for the incredibly important job they have. And if you’re a teacher, thank you for what you do. It matters!
