  • Go-Givers Sell More book: A parable about creating value for customers and revolutionizing the way sales teams approach sales Sales leadership: How creating true value for customers can change the sales landscape The practical application of creating

    Go-Givers Sell More

Sales can be a grueling and relentless way to make a living. What’s even more challenging is being a Sales Leader, responsible for not only meeting your personal goals, but also encouraging the salespeople on your team to “keep at it.”

Having led large sales teams for decades, I learned that if you’re able to flip the switch from selling “something” to creating true value for your customers – the landscape changes. And it changes in significant ways. This concept and the practical application of creating value is the heart and soul of the Go-Givers Sell More book. Like the other books in the Go-Giver series, the story is told in parable so you’re able to visualize how the principles can be applied.

If you are a Sales Leader, regardless of the industry, this book is an absolute must. Consider purchasing one for each member of your sales team and using it for a multi-part, lunch and learn series. It could revolutionize the way your team approaches sales.

  • Coaching Books

Coach to Coach: An Empowering Story About How to Be a Great Leader

Told as a parable, Coach to Coach walks the path of a young athletic coach (Brian Knight) who finally wins his dream job only to find himself faced with the fear he may not be able to keep it. While he might have had some achievements before, his coaching skills are not at the level he now needs to be successful. It’s only when he allows himself to be open to coaching from a much older and wiser coach, he realizes he has so much to learn.

This book is loaded with poignant and powerful quotes which tie directly into its teachings. Whether you follow sports or not, the athletic backdrop is perfect for how to challenge, encourage and support someone you are coaching or mentoring in any environment. It’s not to be missed!

  • Books for executive leaders

The 7 Perspectives of Effective Leaders: A Proven Framework for Improving Decisions and Increasing Your Influence

Daniel Harkavy lays out the framework for leaders to create significant, positive change in their organization. Through a clear and concise process, Daniel speaks to the 7 critical perspectives that leaders need to keep at the forefront if they want to be effective and dynamic. When speaking about vision, Daniel writes “If they can’t illuminate a path toward a brighter future, if they can’t build strategy and engage the heads and hearts of their people to reach a better tomorrow, then they’re not leading well.”

This book has so much to offer to even a seasoned executive. Loaded with real-world examples from Daniel’s decades of experience, this is a must-read for anyone looking to sharpen their leadership skills.

  • Habits for coaches and leaders

High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way

High Performance Habits was one of those books that just felt like it was written for me! Even in the introduction, Brendon Burchard nails it – “Many of us feel a gap between our ordinary lives and the extraordinary lives we wish to have.”

Throughout the book, Brendon teaches not only the “how to’s” for developing habits that will be so impactful, but he also delves into the “why’s.” He has answers for questions that you don’t even realize you were searching for like, why certain changes and habits can have so much impact on your life, the real reasons we tend to hold ourselves back, and how behaviors like developing influence can be a game-changer. This book has been significant for me and I would highly recommend it to you!

  • Books to motivate you to walk

Do Walk: Navigate earth, mind and body. Step by step.

Description goes hereIn her book Do/Walk / Navigate earth, mind and body. Step by step., Libby cites the many health benefits walking provides, including improving moods. I can completely attest to how this helps moods. After that event in May, I committed to walk each morning, rain, or shine. And I do. While I’ve always been one of those 5:00 AM people, I get myself out the door and walk. The length of the walk isn’t relevant, what’s important is to get moving! While there are some days when I just don’t feel like it, I still go, and I don’t regret it. In Colorado where I live, fall is in full swing. The mornings are chilly, in the low 40’s and it’s definitely dark when I’m out there. Instead of excuses, I layer on extra clothing, use my new headlamp I bought on Amazon, leash up my puppy and head out.

  • Make Your Bed, Little Things That Can Chare Your Life…And Maybe the World

I know this NY Times Bestseller has been on many reading lists. There’s a reason, this is an incredible book.

In Make Your Bed, Little Things That Can Change Your Life…And Maybe the World, retired Navy Admiral William H. McRaven shares the ten principles he learned during his Navy SEAL training. Each of these principles, while some may seem so basic, can change you. If you let them. McRaven recounts his training days with such heart, passion, and humility, that you can’t help but be moved. Whether you’re a corporate executive, a stay-at-home mom, or a student, there’s something in it for everyone. My favorite, Chapter Six – “You Must Dare Greatly.” McRaven states:

“Life is a struggle and the potential for failure is ever present, but those who live in fear of failure, or hardship, or embarrassment will never achieve their potential.”

    So well said!

The book is not particularly lengthy and can easily be read over a weekend. However, if you’re the type who prefers audiobooks, I highly recommend this one specifically because the Admiral reads it himself which adds an extra quality to the storytelling.
